hope for life

An estimated 650,000 children have been orphaned or left with one
parent as a result of AIDS/HIV in Zambia. Zambia is an African
country where 20 percent of adults suffer from AIDS/HIV.
Nowhere is the problem of AIDS and children more drastic than
in southern Africa. The disease has claimed more than 15 million
lives in sub-Saharan Africa since the AIDS pandemic began 20
years ago.

Zambia has been one of the hardest hit countries, as the Ministry of
Health expects that half the population will die of AIDS. The
impact of this disease has been absolutely devastating on
the children of Zambia. In addition to the AIDS/HIV crises,
Zambia suffers from extreme poverty due to a lack of
education and employment opportunities for young
people.

In spite of these statistics, we can make a difference
one life at time. Hope for Life is about giving the
children of Ndola Zambia an opportunity of building a
sustainable life by providing an education, a nutritious
meal and health care for children who are presently orphaned
because of the AIDS pandemic.

Through the Mapalo Orphanage we are helping feed and educate
orphans on a daily basis through the Hope for Life sponsorship
program. By sponsoring 150 of the children on a monthly basis
you are providing a basic education, one meal per day for 300 children.
